Hannah Franklin

Speech Pathologist

Hi, I’m Hannah.

I joined Can:Do 4Kids as a Speech Pathologist in 2023, and before that, I practiced in the disability sector.

One of my favourite things about working as a Speech Pathologist is building positive therapeutic connections with children and families to support them in reaching their goals. I love getting to know my clients' interests and incorporating them into learning activities, as I believe in making therapy fun, safe, individualised and engaging.

Throughout my education, I studied topics on primary school education, special/inclusive education and disability studies. This provided me with useful knowledge on how to best support children's learning and how to individualise learning to facilitate success. Additionally, this is where I discovered a passion for creating safe, supportive environments for all children, and for developing neuro-affirming practice.

I enjoy celebrating clients' successes no matter how big or 'small' the step may be. Communication is such an important part of our lives, and I am honoured that I have the opportunity to support children and families in this area.

I am especially interested in the areas of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), language, and literacy.

Outside of work, I love to sing, crochet, embroider and sculpt clay. I also like to spend time in nature with my three Labradors: Wilfred, Lily and Bertie.

  • Master of Speech Pathology
