Debra Swann
Family Support Worker
Hi, I’m Debra.
I am a Family Support Worker at Can:Do 4Kids.
I’m truly dedicated to the growth of CSWD (Children and Students with Disability), and my focus is on enhancing the Social Skill Program I developed to support children with hearing loss across South Australia, from Year 1 to Year 10. My mission is to foster their confidence and empower them to achieve their fullest potential, enabling them to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
One of the things I love most about working at Can:Do 4Kids is the incredible support and encouragement from my small team. They inspire me to think outside the box and approach challenges with creativity and innovation. As a whole, Can:Do is vibrant, fun, and always striving for inclusivity, which makes it a joy to come to work.
I am a Master's candidate in counselling with a focus on trauma-informed care. I am also Auslan Fluent, and I’m a member of Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
Outside of work, I am passionate about gardening, walking at the beach and swimming. One of my favourite activities is going on a motorcycle ride in the hills, where I can enjoy the thrill of the open road and the beauty of nature. It allows me to unwind and connect with the work around me.
