Adriana Sapio
Senior Occupational Therapist/Service Lead: Assistive Technology
Hi, I'm Adriana.
I’m the Senior Occupational Therapist and Service Lead of Assistive Technology for Can:Do 4Kids. I love exploring best practice in the early intervention space and keeping up to date with the evolving technology that supports our clients.
I strongly believe that making safe and meaningful connections with families is both the starting point and foundation that helps pave the way towards positive outcomes. My therapy style aims to draw upon the caregiver’s knowledge and connection with their child and create collaborative opportunities for growth.
Interweaving yoga teaching practices—such as breathing exercises and meditation—within therapy sessions has produced truly life changing results for my clients.
Since 2018 I have led the Assistive Technology service offering at Can:Do 4Kids. This has been most rewarding, especially as we see mainstream technology becoming more accessible for our clients. Seeing kids finally be able to access their visual environment–through games, books, toys or the kitchen—never gets old!
After hours you will find me practicing yoga, hiking, drawing, reading and always sharing music. I love spending time with my loved ones and my beautiful big doggo Harley, as well as travelling – either overseas or across Australia in my “trusty” old van. Meeting other children and adults who are hard of hearing or vision impaired while travelling are special and heartwarming interactions – often reigniting my love for the work we do.
