The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is being implemented across the country to support people with a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to take part in everyday activities. It has a strong focus on early intervention - where getting support early can reduce the impact of disability on your child.
The NDIS is focused on giving families more choice and control over how, when and where your child’s supports are provided and gives you certainty they will receive the support they need over their lifetime.
Children 0-13 years (until July 2016)
The NDIS is currently being trialled in locations across Australia with South Australia being the trial site for 0-13 year olds.
The transition to full national rollout is scheduled from July 2016.
